John Lithgow Cast in "Rise of the Apes"

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision column, following his stint as the Trinity killer on Dexter, actor John Lithgow has been cast in the Planet of the Apes reboot, Rise of the Apes.
Details Heat Vision, "Rupert Wyatt will direct the feature, which focuses on a scientist (James Franco) who has been working on a cure for Alzheimer’s that is being tested on apes. The test subject named Caesar evolves rapidly, and the scientist takes him home to live with him and protects him from cruel doctors.
Lithgow will play Franco’s Alzheimer’s-stricken father."

The article also details that Freida Pinto has been cast as the movie’s female lead, a primatologist named Caroline who, presumably, will also be a romantic interest for Franco's character.
