Friday the 13th: Part 2 Declared "Dead"

Hit the jump to see the fate of the sequel to the 2009 remake.
Things are not looking good for the sequel to the 2009 remake.

One of the producers of the remake, Brad Fuller replied to a fan via his Twitter account that the second outing with Jason Voorhees is "dead." That's a different story than from a year ago when the Platinum Dunes team was dropping hints about the script.

Shocktilyoudrop reports that there is a deeper story about this and we may hear the rest of it soon.

Ozy: Since the reboot of the franchise grossed nearly $100 million worldwide, this is shocking news to me but we know that somehow, Jason always finds his way back onto the big screen, slashing away.

Thanks to Shocktilyoudrop for the info.

When I first heard this announcement, I was upset. I am no longer upset because I checked up on it and it is not true. Fuller did say that, but only because he got in trouble for making claims about when the movies was coming out and jumping to conclusions about aspects of it. Thank the goodness, Jason fans are still going to get more Jason. S'helluva lot better than Nightmare is shaping up to be.

Honestly I liked what they did with the remake but I am glad they aren't going to do a sequel. That would be overkill IMHO. Jason has had his time come up with a new Boogeyman to put on the big screen.
