Brit TV's LOST IN AUSTEN To Be American Film
Columbia Pictures and Sam Mendes are adapting the British time-traveling TV miniseries Lost in Austen for the big screen.
The film will center on Amanda, an ardent Jane Austen fan who lives in present-day New York with her boyfriend until she swaps places with Austen's fictional creation Elizabeth Bennet.
Mendes, director of Revolutionary Road, will co-produce. The script is being penned by Guy Andrews, who wrote the original four-part series that starred Jemima Rooper and Gemma Arterton and aired last September on ITV in the United Kingdom.
