Harold & Shaun Go To Space

John Cho and Simon Pegg have signed on as the newest Enterprise crew members for Star Trek XI.
Director J.J. Abrams has recruited two more cult-favorite actors for his Star Trek XI, and if the news weren't coming from BORIS KIT at The Hollywood Reporter, one might think it an Internet prank.

John Cho (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) has been cast to succeed George Takei as Lt. Hikaru Sulu, the swashbuckling helmsman of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Meanwhile, Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) will assume the juicy role of Montgomery "Beam Me Up Scotty" Scott, the ship's miracle-working Scottish chief engineer. The character was inhabited through 1994 by the late James Doohan.

The plot is still very hush-hush, but word is that the movie is set primarily in the early days of the classic crew.

Lensing is expected to commence in November and run through March '08.
