After a fan snapped photos of her in costume on the
"Doctor Who" set in Cardiff, Wales, the BBC has confirmed that
Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes of Season Four, reports SciFi Wire's CINDY WHITE.
Piper, who co-starred in the first two seasons of the current series, is one of three women joining
David Tennant's Doctor in the upcoming season, the others being
Catherine Tate (returning as Donna Noble from last year's Christmas special, "The Runaway Bride") and
Freema Agyeman (Season Three's Martha Jones). It is unclear whether or not Rose will interact with the other guest stars during her three-episode stint.

The December 25th
"Doctor Who" Christmas special, "Voyage of the Damned", is set on the Titanic and co-stars singer/actor
Kylie Minogue (
Street Fighter).
The 13-episode Season Four premieres in March.
In other
"Who-related news, former
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (plus
"Angel" and
"Smallville") cast member
James Marsters will guest-star on the
"Doctor Who" spinoff series,
"Torchwood", when it returns for a second season in January.
"Who"'s Agyeman will also make a guest appearance as Martha Jones.
The second season of
"Torchwood" debuts on BBC America at 9 p.m. ET on 26 January '08. The seven-disc DVD set
Torchwood: The Complete First Season hits shelves January 22.
