SCARLETT JOHANSSON: To Be Paid $20 Million For Avengers 2?
According to the British tabloid The Sun, actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly being offered about $20 million to reprise her role of Black Widow in the 2015 sequel to The Avengers.
"Scarlett is the hottest star in Hollywood and her inclusion in the sequel is a must. Producers think that as the only lead woman in the film male fans have found her a key ingredient — both for sex and story appeal," offers a source to the paper. "She is loved by critics too."
One has to wonder how much validity this story has. Marvel is not known for big pay-days, so it's suspect to think they'd be paying Scarlett $20 million for a role that was secondary to Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Chris Evans' Captain America. And especially this early, with production still to begin on the Thor and Captain America sequels.
