Edgar Allan Poe Getting His Own Pilot at ABC

ABC, following the pick-up of a pilot called Pan Am that takes place in the 1960s, has, according to Deadline, also gone for a pilot called Poe, a crime procedural featuring Edgar Allan Poe!
Deadline describes the project as follows: "Poe [is] a crime procedural following Edgar Allan Poe, the world's very first detective, as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston. Chris Hollier (Kyle XY) penned the project for Warner Bros. TV and Lin Pictures. He will be supervising producer, with Dan Lin executive producing. It has been a very intriguing pilot pickup day at ABC."

With the various pilots in development, it's shaping up to be a VERY interesting pilot season as well.

That sounds interesting. Kind of similar to BBC's "Murder Rooms" with Arthur Conan Doyle and his mentor Dr. Bell.

Crazy concept, right? But I've got to say, this is really shaping up to be an interesting development season with the networks trying to take some risks with some seemingly bizarre concepts.

I'm not familiar with Murder Rooms. Is that a new or old show?

"Murder Rooms" is a few years old. I caught a few episodes on PBS "Mystery." It ran on BBC from 2000-2001. Pretty interesting show that postulates that many famous scenes from the Holmes stories actually occurred in real life with Bell and his protege', Doyle.
