Falling Skies: TNT Making Preparations For Season 2

Although TNT's Falling Skies doesn't premiere until June 1st, the network is actually eyeing a second season -- the final decision regarding which will come after the show makes its debut.
Deadline reports that the show's writing staff is being built from the ground up because, due to the length of time between production and debut of season one, the original writers have all moved on.

So, the network has brought aboard Caprica co-creator Remi Aubuchon as executive producer/showrunner. At the moment he's putting together a staff, though no one else will be hired until TNT makes a decision about season two. for his part, Aubuchon is excited on two fronts - first, with the chance to work with executive producer Steven Spielberg and, second, for the opportunity the show will offer him as a writer.

"Steven (Spielberg) is very involved in the show, which is one of his pet projects; he has a lot of passion for it," he said. "I think it is exciting to work with him, and I think a lot of writers would be looking forward to that... [Also], in the last few years, I've been trying to combine my training in character drama and figure out a way to assimilate that into the genre world, and I think I had some success with Caprica."
