Ethan Hawke Joins Total Recall Remake
According to THR, Ethan Hawke is the latest cast member to be hired to star in Len Weisman's remake of Total Recall, based on the Philip K. Dick story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale."
The Arnold Schwarzenegger original dealt with a growing conflict between Earth and a Martian colony. This version, says THR, "ditches the Martian storyline and instead involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn't know for which side."
Also cast is Bryan Cranston and the female lead is looking to be between Kate Beckinsale and Jessical Biel. The report states that Hawke's role is a cameo, and that the part itself is being held closely to the vest.
