Superman Producer Ilya Salkind Missing in Mexico
TMZ is reporting that Ilya Salkind, producer of the first three Christopher Reeve Superman films as well as Supergirl and the Adventures of Superboy TV series, is missing in Mexico.
According to those who know him, Salkind was on his estate in Mexico on Sunday and went out to run some errands, but he hasn't been heard from since. Mexican authorities have been notified.
The vision of Superman: The Movie is absolutely that of director Richard Donner, but Ilya Salkind is the person who first recognized that the Man of Steel could work as a big budget feature film.
