AMC May Loose Breaking Bad After Fourth Season; FX Could Gain The Fifth Season

The popular, award winning, and controversial AMC show may not even be an AMC show too much longer. Talks for the fifth season have hit a snag that may cause the them to pack up and leave, possibly to FX...

Los Angeles Times are reporting that the fifth season negotiations for the AMC hit Breaking Bad have hit a bit of a snag. The ever stingy channel may cut Breaking Bad's season from 13 episodes to seven or eight. This has caused series creator Vince Gilligan to think about jumping to a different channel.

AMC has recently cut the budget per episode of their newest and most popular hit The Walking Dead by $250,000. This is believed to have played a big role in show runner Frank Darabont's abrupt departure. Money negotiations for a fourth season of Mad Men have also caused the show to miss its 2011 season altogether.

Though Breaking Bad will most likely stay on AMC, the crew have shopped around other networks; one of the known ones is FX.

The Wrap are reporting that even though the show IS most likely staying at AMC, the show crew have talked with FX about possibly taking over the Show for its fifth and final season. FX almost took over the show when they were still trying to get picked up for a pilot episode, but passed due to already having to many antihero shows at the time such as The Shield, Rescue Me and Nip/Tuck.

Remember that there are still negotiations going on with AMC, who may cave to their demands or reach a middle ground. Also remember to come back for more news on Breaking Bad and its future as it comes.
