Longtime fans of Eddie Murphy miss the edge he brought to his roles in such early efforts as 48 Hrs., Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop as he's become immersed in more family-oriented films. Well the trailer for Brett Ratner's Tower Heist definitely seems like a throwback in the very best sense of the word.

And check out the trailers for those early films as well:

They lost me at "A Brett Ratner Film". I hate the Rush Hour movies and everything else he has done, but this does actually look awesome. Great cast and an edgy Raw styled Eddie Murphy, I guess I'm in.

If there is any shot of Eddie Murphy tapping into the guy he used to be on screen, I absolutely want to be there. He was SO amazing in 48hrs., Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop. Yes, I know those films were a long time ago, but it would be cool to see that type of character again.
