Russell Crowe Says His Robin Hood Is A Fresh Take

He says previous versions of Robin Hood have relied too much on the "usual cliches".
Russel Crowe has been out promoting the new film harder than most films he has previously starred in. One thing is for sure, he is very proud of his version and assures it brings something new to the table. In an interview with People magazine he said "Past filmmakers and studios have supposed things about Robin Hood."

The Oscar winner added that his Robin Hood "depicts the origins, where he might actually have come from".

Also, here is Reuters video of Russell at a recent promo shoot:

Robin Hood hits theaters May 14th.

"fresh take" from an actor or director means "same old shit". It's just another of those phrases that means nothing. "it's darker", "it's on a larger scale", being two more examples of tiered phrases every movie maker uses.
