THOR 2: Mads Mikkelsen In Talks To Play The Villain

With production beginning later this summer,Casino Royale actor Mads Mikkelsen is in negotiations to play a villain opposite Tom Hiddleston's Loki in the upcoming sequel.

Marvel Studios' Thor sequel is currently preparing to begin production later this summer in London, and now we have the first bit of casting news. Variety reports that Mads Mikkelsen (Clash Of The Titans, Casino Royale) is in negotiations to play the villain in the Alan Taylor-directed film, which sees the return of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and most of the rest of the cast of the first movie. No word on who Mikkelsen is playing, but stay tuned to Earth's Mightiest for the latest on Thor 2.

Don Payne (who cowrote the first Thor) wrote the original draft, while Saving Private Ryan's Robert Rodat recently rewrote it. Thor 2 is scheduled to hit theaters November 15th, 2013 via Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios.

As I'm certain most the nerds out there have as of now, look at the erased scenes from the primary Thor film.
