ROBOTECH Nabs Lawrence Kasdan As Writer

From Harmony Gold USA and Tatsunkoko Productions ROBOTECH was an anime series from 1980. Set on Earth where giant robots made of alien technology are used to fight off an alien invasions. "The first invasion centers on a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship's energy source, known as "protoculture," and the planet's hope for survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots."

The project is being produced by Akiva Goldsman and Chuck Roven, along with Tobey Maguire and Drew Crevello.

Lawrence Kasden is quite familiar with the SciFi genre previously writing screenplays for Return of the Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back and recently the Clash of The Titans remake.
